I replaced a 15 year old set of Malibu lawn lights with an almost exact replica new set. They just turn on when it gets around dusk. Outside of having to assemble the wires into each socket, test each with a bulb(tedious)and then lay out the 100 feet of electric cable to determine where the lites would go, they installed nicely and the light sensor on the power pack makes it nice. No resetting the clock. One of the spot lite lenses arrived cracked. I called Malibu and they shipped me 2 new ones at no charge.
The product you sold me on 1-2-09 was 55.41. A week later and today you have the same product for 43.49. $11.92 is a big difference on a item of $55.00. I now review your prices with other companies rather than trust you have the lowest cost.Linda Jenkins 406 Brian DrHurricane, WV 25526
I was concerned that they would look cheap in the daylight, but really, once they're placed in the yard/landscape/garden, all you really notice is that there's a light there that is a nice design. Brightness is great (brighter and more of a pleasant color) than LED lights. - you don't really bother looking closely enough at it, so the potential 'cheapness' of the appearance never becomes an issue - all you notice is a luxurious feeling that the lights give to the landscape, whether it's day or night. One thing I did have to do is to by an additional power cord. Easy to install (although the directions definitely leave you to figure out a few things on your own. in some places, the directions were plain wrong in their diagrams of the product). The lights are plastic which has it's advantages and disadvantages: they will never rust or loose color, but they do feel a little flimsy (make sure to place the lights in places where they won't be hit by people walking or land mowers or whatever). The one included is 100 feet, but if you were to put all 20 lights in that length of cord, you'd have a really densely lighted area. I added an additional 100 feet with no reduction in light brightness and no other problems.
Little spotlights are nice too and can be adjusted to shine across your walkway. The lights are so nice across the front of our house (on both sides) and they automatically come on and off every night.
These lights came in 2 days. First of all we love Amazon.com.
We also spliced into the wire which was okay too. My husband and I put them together; no missing parts and everything went together like it was supposed to.
The only thing that wasn't quite clear was that the transformer has to be 10 feet away from the first light. Neighbors commented how nice they look.
Would buy again.
just a quick review: the lights were easy to assemble, but because it's so many, it took about an hour. None of the plastic parts were broken or in bad quality unlike for some other reviewers. With 100feet the cable is actually pretty long, but the first light has to be at least 13ft away from the transformer, so keep this in mind when thinking about the layout. Also, everything is plastic, so it's not as nice looking as other metal lights, but serves its purpose for the backyard.Another fact to consider: This transformer doesn't have a timer, it has the light sensor, so when it gets dark, the lights go on. There is actually the same set available with a timer instead. Or you can just buy one of those cheap timers and plug it in there.Last, the lights on these will be nicer and more consistent than solar lights, especially if they are under bushes or anywhere solar lights won't get enough light to recharge.
